revised tariff values for imports

Notification No. 19/2026-Customs (N.T.), Dated 06-02-2026

The Central Government of India has issued a notification amending Notification No. 36/2001–Customs (N.T.), dated 03 August 2001, by substituting Table-1, Table-2 and Table-3 that prescribe tariff values for specified imported goods.

1. Continuity of Tariff Values

The substituted tables retain the existing tariff values, with no change compared to the earlier notification, for the following goods:

  • Crude palm oil
  • RBD palm oil and other palm oil variants
  • Crude soya bean oil
  • Brass scrap
  • Gold
  • Silver
  • Areca nuts

This amendment primarily updates the tables without altering the prevailing tariff benchmarks.

2. Notified Tariff Values Under the Substituted Tables

The substituted tables specify the following tariff values, applicable to the relevant tariff headings and categories of imports:

2.1 Edible Oils

  • Palm oil and palmolein variants USD 1066 to USD 1082 per metric tonne
  • Crude soya bean oil  USD 1186 per metric tonne

2.2 Metals and Other Goods

  • Brass scrap USD 7284 per metric tonne
  • Gold USD 1605 per 10 grams
  • Silver USD 2552 per kilogram
  • Areca nuts USD 7679 per metric tonne

3. Effective Date

  • The amended notification shall come into force with effect from 07 February 2026.

4. Key Takeaway

While the Government has formally substituted the tariff value tables under Notification No. 36/2001–Customs (N.T.), the tariff values for the specified commodities remain unchanged, providing continuity and certainty for importers and customs administration.
