Tariff Values for Specified Goods

Notification No. 37/2026-Customs (N.T.), Dated 15-04-2026

The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) has issued a notification amending Notification No. 36/2001-Customs (N.T.), dated 03-08-2001, revising tariff values for specified goods.

1. Substitution of Tables

  • TABLE-1, TABLE-2, and TABLE-3 of the notification have been substituted
  • The revised tables provide updated tariff values for notified goods

2. Revised Tariff Values for Key Commodities

The notification specifies tariff values for:

  • Edible Oils:
    1. Crude palm oil
    2. RBD palm oil
    3. Other palm oil
    4. Crude palmolein
    5. RBD palmolein
    6. Other palmolein
    7. Crude soybean oil
  • Other Goods:
    1. Brass scrap

3. Tariff Values for Precious Metals and Areca Nuts

The notification also prescribes tariff values for:

  • Gold and silver (in any form, subject to specified conditions)
  • Areca nuts

4. Effective Date

  • The revised tariff values shall come into force from 16th April 2026

5. Objective of the Amendment

The revision aims to:

  • Align tariff values with prevailing international prices
  • Ensure accurate customs duty assessment
  • Prevent undervaluation and revenue leakage
