Notification No. 42/2026- Customs (N.T.), Dated 30-04-2026

The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) has issued a notification amending Notification No. 36/2001-Customs (N.T.), dated 03-08-2001, by substituting TABLE-1, TABLE-2, and TABLE-3.

1. Key Changes in Tariff Values

The revised tables update tariff values for several commodities, including:

  • Crude palm oil
  • RBD palm oil
  • Palmolein (crude and refined)
  • Crude soya bean oil
  • Brass scrap
  • Gold and silver

2. Revised Precious Metal Values

  • Gold – ₹1,456 per 10 grams
  • Silver – ₹2,360 per kilogram

3. Areca Nut Tariff Value

  • Tariff value for areca nuts remains unchanged at ₹9,155

4. Other Commodity Updates

Updated tariff values have also been prescribed for:

  • Edible oils
  • Brass scrap

These are detailed in the substituted tables.

5. Effective Date

  • The revised tariff values shall come into force from 01 May 2026

The notification ensures periodic alignment of tariff values with prevailing international prices, facilitating accurate customs duty computation and maintaining consistency in valuation practices.
