The Government has amended the import policy for synthetic knitted fabrics falling under ITC(HS) Codes 60019200, 60053600, 60053790, and 60053900. A Minimum Import Price (MIP) has been imposed on these items, which will remain in effect until 31-03-2026.
As a result, these fabrics are now classified as ‘Restricted’ for import. However, if the CIF value is USD 3.5 or more per kilogram, the import will be treated as ‘Free’.
The MIP condition will not apply to imports made by Advance Authorisation holders, Export Oriented Units (EOUs), and Special Economic Zone (SEZ) units, provided the goods are not sold in the Domestic Tariff Area (DTA).
