anti-dumping duty on Aniline

Notification No. 25/2025 – Customs (ADD), Dated 18-07-2025

The Government of India has issued a notification providing for the continued imposition of anti-dumping duty on imports of “Aniline” originating in or exported from the People’s Republic of China (China PR).

1. Objective of the Duty

The continuation of the anti-dumping duty is aimed at preventing injury to the domestic industry caused by unfair pricing and dumping of Aniline into the Indian market by Chinese exporters.

2. Duration of Imposition

As per the notification, the anti-dumping duty shall remain in force for five years from the date of its imposition, unless revoked, superseded, or amended earlier.

3. Background

Aniline is an important raw material used in the manufacture of dyes, rubber chemicals, and pharmaceuticals. The imposition of anti-dumping duty ensures a level playing field for domestic producers by countering predatory pricing practices and maintaining fair market competition.
