The change is aligned with global norms under the WTO\u2019s General Agreement on Trade in Services (GATS), which categorises services trade into four modes.<\/p>\n<p>The four GATS-defined modes are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Mode 1 \u2013 Cross-Border Supply (e.g. IT services, remote consulting)<\/li>\n<li>Mode 2 \u2013 Consumption Abroad (e.g. medical treatment, tourism, foreign students)<\/li>\n<li>Mode 3 \u2013 Commercial Presence (e.g. Indian bank branches operating overseas)<\/li>\n<li>Mode 4 \u2013 Presence of Natural Persons (e.g. IT professionals on assignment abroad)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Exporters must select the appropriate mode while self-certifying eBRCs. User manuals are available on the DGFT portal, and support is provided via helpline and email <a href=\"mailto:ebrc-dgft@gov.in\">ebrc-dgft@gov.in<\/a>.
