This decision follows a comprehensive review by the designated authority to determine the need for extending the earlier duty beyond its original period.<\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"540\" data-end=\"590\">1. Background \u2013 Initial Imposition of Duty in 2020<\/h2>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"592\" data-end=\"879\">The anti-dumping duty was first imposed vide<a href=\"https:\/\/www.centaxonline.com\/search?searchData=Notification%20No.%2008%2F2020-Customs%20(ADD)&amp;itemType=AP\"> <strong data-start=\"637\" data-end=\"679\">Notification No. 08\/2020-Customs (ADD)<\/strong><\/a> dated 19th May 2020. It was levied for a period of five years to counteract the dumping of Sodium Citrate by Chinese exporters, which was found to be causing material injury to the domestic industry.<\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"886\" data-end=\"933\">2. Findings of the Sunset Review Investigation<\/h2>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"935\" data-end=\"1399\">As the validity of the 2020 notification approached expiry, the Directorate General of Trade Remedies (DGTR) initiated a <strong data-start=\"1056\" data-end=\"1087\">sunset review investigation<\/strong> to assess the potential impact of discontinuing the duty. The review revealed that the removal of the existing anti-dumping duty would likely result in continued or recurring dumping and consequent injury to the domestic producers. These findings formed the basis of the current notification extending the duty.<\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"1406\" data-end=\"1444\">3. Revised Rates of Anti-Dumping Duty<\/h2>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1446\" data-end=\"1626\">Pursuant to the findings of the sunset review, the government has issued a fresh notification superseding the earlier one. The revised anti-dumping duty shall now apply as follows \u2013<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li data-start=\"1630\" data-end=\"1711\"><strong data-start=\"1630\" data-end=\"1660\">USD 96.05 per metric tonne<\/strong> \u2013 Applicable to specified exporters from China PR.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1714\" data-end=\"1796\"><strong data-start=\"1714\" data-end=\"1745\">USD 152.78 per metric tonne<\/strong> \u2013 Applicable to all other exporters from China PR.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1798\" data-end=\"1969\">The duty amount is to be paid in Indian Rupees, based on the exchange rate as notified by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on the date of presentation of the bill of entry.<\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"1976\" data-end=\"2002\">4. Duration of Imposition<\/h2>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"2004\" data-end=\"2243\">The extended anti-dumping duty shall remain in force for a <strong data-start=\"2063\" data-end=\"2095\">further period of five years<\/strong> from the date of publication of the new notification in the <strong data-start=\"2156\" data-end=\"2176\">Official Gazette<\/strong>, unless revoked, superseded, or
