Background of the Original Notification<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"127\" data-end=\"539\">The Central Government had earlier issued <strong data-start=\"169\" data-end=\"211\">Notification No. 37\/2020-Customs (ADD)<\/strong> dated <strong data-start=\"218\" data-end=\"240\">11th November 2020<\/strong>, to impose an anti-dumping duty on the import of <em data-start=\"290\" data-end=\"311\">\u2018Clear Float Glass\u2019<\/em> falling under <strong data-start=\"326\" data-end=\"340\">Chapter 70<\/strong> of the First Schedule to the <strong data-start=\"370\" data-end=\"398\">Customs Tariff Act, 1975<\/strong>. This measure was aimed at countering the impact of dumping by exporters from <strong data-start=\"477\" data-end=\"489\">Malaysia<\/strong>, which was found to be harming the domestic industry.<\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"546\" data-end=\"581\">2. Initiation of Sunset Review<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"583\" data-end=\"1137\">Subsequently, in accordance with <strong data-start=\"616\" data-end=\"633\">Section 9A(5)<\/strong> of the <strong data-start=\"641\" data-end=\"663\">Customs Tariff Act<\/strong> read with <strong data-start=\"674\" data-end=\"685\">Rule 23<\/strong> of the Customs Tariff (Identification, Assessment and Collection of Anti-Dumping Duty on Dumped Articles and for Determination of Injury) Rules, 1995, the <strong data-start=\"841\" data-end=\"865\">designated authority<\/strong> initiated a review process. This was done vide <strong data-start=\"913\" data-end=\"948\">Notification No. 7\/04\/2025-DGTR<\/strong>, dated <strong data-start=\"956\" data-end=\"975\">27th March 2025<\/strong>, commonly referred to as a <em data-start=\"1003\" data-end=\"1018\">sunset review<\/em>, to determine whether the cessation of the duty would likely lead to continuation or recurrence of dumping and injury.<\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"1144\" data-end=\"1180\">3. Amendment to Extend the Duty<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"1182\" data-end=\"1457\">Pursuant to the ongoing review, the Government has now issued a fresh <strong data-start=\"1252\" data-end=\"1278\">amendment notification<\/strong>. This amendment introduces a <strong data-start=\"1308\" data-end=\"1325\">new paragraph<\/strong> in the original <a href=\"https:\/\/www.centaxonline.com\/search?searchData=Notification%20No.%2037%2F2020-Customs%20(ADD)&amp;itemType=AP\">Notification No. 37\/2020-Customs (ADD)<\/a>, making a specific override to <strong data-start=\"1412\" data-end=\"1427\">paragraph 2<\/strong> of the original notification.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1459\" data-end=\"1744\">The inserted provision states that, <strong data-start=\"1494\" data-end=\"1547\">notwithstanding anything contained in paragraph 2<\/strong>, the anti-dumping duty imposed on <em data-start=\"1582\" data-end=\"1603\">\u2018Clear Float Glass\u2019<\/em> from Malaysia shall <strong data-start=\"1624\" data-end=\"1685\">remain in force up to and inclusive of 10th February 2026<\/strong>, unless it is <strong data-start=\"1700\" data-end=\"1743\">revoked, superseded, or amended earlier<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"1751\" data-end=\"1794\">4. Continued Levy of Anti-Dumping Duty<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"1796\" data-end=\"2113\">As a result of this amendment, the anti-dumping duty applicable on the import of <em data-start=\"1877\" data-end=\"1898\">\u2018Clear Float Glass\u2019<\/em> originating in or exported from <strong data-start=\"1931\" data-end=\"1943\">Malaysia<\/strong> will continue to be levied <strong data-start=\"1971\" data-end=\"1991\">until 10-02-2026<\/strong>. Importers and stakeholders should remain compliant with this levy unless further changes are notified by the Government.<\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"2120\" data-end=\"2138\">5. Conclusion<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"2140\" data-end=\"2437\">This extension ensures that the domestic industry continues to be safeguarded from unfair trade practices during the pendency of the sunset review.
