This clarification follows the issuance of <strong data-start=\"424\" data-end=\"473\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.centaxonline.com\/search?searchData=Public%20Notice%20No.%2039%2F2024-25&amp;itemType=AP\">Public Notice No. 39\/2024-25<\/a> dated 05-01-2025<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"481\" data-end=\"520\">1. Limited Scope of NPOP Accreditation<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"522\" data-end=\"821\">As per the Policy Circular, the scope of accreditation granted under the NPOP is <strong data-start=\"603\" data-end=\"640\">restricted to specific categories<\/strong> clearly outlined in the Circular. It has been <strong data-start=\"687\" data-end=\"750\">explicitly clarified that organic textiles are not included<\/strong> in the list of accredited categories under the current NPOP framework.<\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"828\" data-end=\"911\">2. No Requirement for NAB-Accredited Transaction Certificates for Organic Textiles<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"913\" data-end=\"1270\">In light of this clarification, the DGFT has emphasized that the <strong data-start=\"978\" data-end=\"1054\">requirement of a Transaction Certificate issued by a NAB-accredited body<\/strong>, as mandated by the aforementioned Public Notice, <strong data-start=\"1105\" data-end=\"1162\">does not apply to exports of organic textile products<\/strong>. This exemption removes the confusion around the applicability of NPOP accreditation for textile exporters.<\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"1277\" data-end=\"1331\">3. Valid Documentation for Export of Organic Textiles<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"1333\" data-end=\"1501\">Exporters of organic textiles are required to submit a <strong data-start=\"1388\" data-end=\"1421\">valid Transaction Certificate<\/strong> at the time of export. This certificate must be issued by any of the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Certification bodies designated through the Textile Exchange<\/li>\n<li>Certification bodies authorised under the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS)<\/li>\n<li>Certification bodies mandated by the buyer(s)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"1714\" data-end=\"1885\">These alternate certification routes ensure that exporters remain compliant with global organic standards, even though they fall outside the purview of NPOP accreditation.<\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"1892\" data-end=\"1906\">4. Conclusion<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"1908\" data-end=\"2320\">This policy clarification brings much-needed certainty for organic textile exporters and ensures that their compliance obligations are aligned with <strong data-start=\"2056\" data-end=\"2108\">internationally accepted certification practices<\/strong>, rather than the NPOP framework.
