Notification No. 42\/2025-26<\/a>, Dated 14-10-2025<\/i><\/p>\n

1. Introduction<\/h2>\n

The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) has issued a notification amending the export policy under Chapter 2, Schedule II of the ITC (HS) 2022<\/strong>. The amendment introduces a new Export Policy Condition 9<\/strong>, aimed at ensuring compliance with payment obligations towards the Meat Export Development Fund (MEDF).<\/p>\n

2. New Export Policy Condition<\/h2>\n

Under the newly inserted Condition 9<\/strong>, the export of chilled or frozen meat<\/strong> will be allowed only upon submission of proof of remittance to the Meat Export Development Fund (MEDF)<\/strong>. The MEDF is operated by the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA)<\/strong>, which regulates and promotes meat exports from India.<\/p>\n

3. Products Covered<\/h2>\n

This condition specifically applies to:<\/p>\n

    \n
  • Boneless meat of bovine animals, and<\/li>\n
  • Edible offal of bovine animals, whether fresh, chilled, or frozen.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    These items are classified under the following HS Codes<\/strong>:<\/p>\n

      \n
    • 0201<\/strong> \u2013 Meat of bovine animals, fresh or chilled<\/li>\n
    • 0202<\/strong> \u2013 Meat of bovine animals, frozen<\/li>\n
    • 0206<\/strong> \u2013 Edible offal of bovine animals, fresh, chilled, or frozen<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      4. Implementation Timeline<\/h2>\n

      To facilitate a smooth transition for exporters, the DGFT has provided a transition period<\/strong> before the condition becomes effective. The revised policy will come into effect from 29th October 2025<\/strong>, after which compliance with the remittance proof requirement will be mandatory<\/strong> for all relevant exports.<\/p>\n

      5. Objective of the Amendment<\/h2>\n

      The inclusion of this condition aims to:<\/p>\n

      • Strengthen the accountability and traceability of meat export transactions.<\/li>\n
      • Ensure consistent contribution to the Meat Export Development Fund<\/strong> for industry growth and export promotion.<\/li>\n
