The amendment refines the applicability of the <strong data-start=\"480\" data-end=\"510\">Minimum Import Price (MIP)<\/strong> condition for certain fabric categories.<\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"560\" data-end=\"582\">1. Key Amendments<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li data-start=\"586\" data-end=\"797\"><strong data-start=\"586\" data-end=\"611\">Import Policy Status <span data-teams=\"true\">\u2013<\/span> <\/strong>The import of synthetic knitted fabrics under this code continues to be <strong data-start=\"688\" data-end=\"704\">\u2018Restricted\u2019<\/strong> and is permitted as <strong data-start=\"725\" data-end=\"735\">\u2018Free\u2019<\/strong> only if the <strong data-start=\"748\" data-end=\"794\">CIF value is USD 3.5 per kilogram or above<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"801\" data-end=\"968\"><strong data-start=\"801\" data-end=\"838\">Exemption for Specific GSM Range <span data-teams=\"true\">\u2013<\/span> <\/strong>Fabrics <strong data-start=\"851\" data-end=\"911\">falling within the 28 to 48 grams per square meter (GSM)<\/strong> range are now <strong data-start=\"926\" data-end=\"938\">exempted<\/strong> from the <strong data-start=\"948\" data-end=\"965\">MIP condition<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ol>\n<li data-start=\"973\" data-end=\"1108\">This means that such low-GSM synthetic knitted fabrics may be <strong data-start=\"1035\" data-end=\"1054\">freely imported<\/strong> without adhering to the USD 3.5\/kg MIP requirement.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1113\" data-end=\"1206\">Imports of fabrics outside this GSM range remain subject to the <strong data-start=\"1177\" data-end=\"1203\">existing MIP condition<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2 data-start=\"1213\" data-end=\"1249\">2. Applicability and Exemptions<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li data-start=\"1253\" data-end=\"1389\">The <strong data-start=\"1257\" data-end=\"1274\">MIP condition<\/strong> applicable to <strong data-start=\"1289\" data-end=\"1307\">other HS Codes<\/strong> under <strong data-start=\"1314\" data-end=\"1363\">Notification No. 05\/2025-26, dated 23-04-2025<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"1365\" data-end=\"1386\">remains unchanged<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1392\" data-end=\"1630\">Imports made by <strong data-start=\"1408\" data-end=\"1441\">Advance Authorisation holders<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"1443\" data-end=\"1475\">Export Oriented Units (EOUs)<\/strong>, and <strong data-start=\"1481\" data-end=\"1512\">Special Economic Zone (SEZ)<\/strong> units are <strong data-start=\"1523\" data-end=\"1556\">exempt from the MIP condition<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"1558\" data-end=\"1627\">provided the goods are not sold in the Domestic Tariff Area (DTA)<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 data-start=\"1637\" data-end=\"1651\">3. Impact<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"1653\" data-end=\"1925\">This amendment provides <strong data-start=\"1677\" data-end=\"1699\">operational relief<\/strong> to importers of lightweight synthetic knitted fabrics while maintaining the <strong data-start=\"1776\" data-end=\"1805\">price safeguard mechanism<\/strong> for other fabric types. It also ensures <strong data-start=\"1846\" data-end=\"1897\">continued protection for domestic manufacturers<\/strong> from underpriced
