Background<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"209\" data-end=\"619\">The <strong data-start=\"213\" data-end=\"260\">Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue)<\/strong> has issued a notification imposing <strong data-start=\"296\" data-end=\"317\">anti-dumping duty<\/strong> on imports of <strong data-start=\"332\" data-end=\"388\">hot rolled flat products of alloy or non-alloy steel<\/strong> originating in or exported from <strong data-start=\"421\" data-end=\"432\">Vietnam<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"209\" data-end=\"619\">These products fall under <strong data-start=\"462\" data-end=\"508\">tariff headings 7208, 7211, 7225, and 7226<\/strong> of the <strong data-start=\"516\" data-end=\"544\">Customs Tariff Act, 1975<\/strong> and cover <strong data-start=\"555\" data-end=\"618\">flat steel of thickness up to 25 mm and width up to 2100 mm<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"626\" data-end=\"654\">2. Basis for Imposition<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"655\" data-end=\"814\">The duty follows the <strong data-start=\"676\" data-end=\"694\">final findings<\/strong> of the <strong data-start=\"702\" data-end=\"726\">Designated Authority<\/strong> under <strong data-start=\"733\" data-end=\"791\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.centaxonline.com\/search?searchData=Notification%20No.%2006%2F15%2F2024-DGTR&amp;itemType=AP\">Notification No. 06\/15\/2024-DGTR<\/a>, dated 13 August 2025<\/strong>, which concluded that:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li data-start=\"817\" data-end=\"886\">The subject goods were being <strong data-start=\"846\" data-end=\"879\">dumped into the Indian market<\/strong>, and<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"889\" data-end=\"964\">Such dumping had caused <strong data-start=\"913\" data-end=\"963\">material injury to the domestic steel industry<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"966\" data-end=\"1102\">Accordingly, the Central Government has accepted the findings and imposed the duty to safeguard the interests of domestic manufacturers.<\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"1417\" data-end=\"1451\">3. Duration and Applicability<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li data-start=\"1454\" data-end=\"1652\">The <strong data-start=\"1458\" data-end=\"1479\">anti-dumping duty<\/strong> shall remain <strong data-start=\"1493\" data-end=\"1520\">in force for five years<\/strong> from the date of publication of the notification in the <strong data-start=\"1577\" data-end=\"1597\">Official Gazette<\/strong>, unless <strong data-start=\"1606\" data-end=\"1649\">revoked, superseded, or amended earlier<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1655\" data-end=\"1826\">The <strong data-start=\"1659\" data-end=\"1697\">duty is payable in Indian currency<\/strong>, and the applicable <strong data-start=\"1718\" data-end=\"1735\">exchange rate<\/strong> for conversion shall be the rate notified under <strong data-start=\"1784\" data-end=\"1823\">Section 14 of the Customs Act, 1962<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1829\" data-end=\"1973\">For calculation purposes, the <strong data-start=\"1859\" data-end=\"1876\">relevant date<\/strong> shall be the <strong data-start=\"1890\" data-end=\"1935\">date of presentation of the bill of entry<\/strong> under <strong data-start=\"1942\" data-end=\"1956\">Section 46<\/strong> of the said Act.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 data-start=\"1980\" data-end=\"2000\">4. Significance<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"2001\" data-end=\"2041\">The imposition of this duty is aimed at:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li data-start=\"2044\" data-end=\"2131\"><strong data-start=\"2044\" data-end=\"2078\">Curbing unfair trade practices<\/strong> by exporters dumping steel at below-market prices,<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2134\" data-end=\"2195\"><strong data-start=\"2134\" data-end=\"2167\">Protecting domestic producers<\/strong> from material injury, and<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2198\" data-end=\"2263\">Ensuring a <strong data-start=\"2209\" data-end=\"2232\">level playing field<\/strong> for the Indian steel industry.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Notification No. 32\/2025- Customs (ADD), Dated 12-11-2025 1.
