Notification No. 49\/2025- Customs<\/a>, Dated 28-11-2025<\/p>\n

The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) has notified an important amendment to the Project Imports Regulations, 1986<\/strong>, introducing a new entry at Serial No. 3FF<\/strong> specifically for \u201cJaipur Metro Projects.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

1. New Entry Introduced Under Project Imports Scheme<\/h2>\n

A fresh category has been added to the list of eligible projects under the concessional Project Imports<\/strong> framework.<\/p>\n

    \n
  • Serial Number \u2013<\/span><\/strong>\u00a03FF<\/li>\n
  • Project Category \u2013<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0Jaipur Metro Projects<\/li>\n
  • Designated Authority \u2013<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0Managing Director or Director (Project), Rajasthan Metro Rail Corporation Limited (RMRCL)<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    This means that RMRCL officials are now officially empowered to certify and process applications relating to imports required for the Jaipur Metro.<\/p>\n

    2. Benefit Under the Project Imports Scheme<\/h2>\n

    With this inclusion, goods imported for the Jaipur Metro development\u2014such as machinery, components, rolling stock, signalling equipment, and associated infrastructure items\u2014can now avail concessional customs duty treatment under the Project Import<\/strong> mechanism.<\/p>\n

    This scheme is aimed at:<\/p>\n

    • Reducing costs for large infrastructure projects<\/li>\n
    • Streamlining import approvals<\/li>\n
    • Facilitating timely execution of metro development work<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      3. Effective Date of the Amendment<\/h2>\n

      The amendment comes into force from 29 November 2025<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
