Notification No. 07\/2025- Customs (CVD)<\/a>, Dated 07-12-2025<\/p>\n

1. Regulatory Background<\/h2>\n

The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC)<\/strong> has issued a notification providing for the continuation of countervailing duty (CVD)<\/strong> on imports of \u2018Textured Tempered Glass\u2019<\/strong>, classified under tariff item 7007 19 00<\/strong>, originating in or exported from Malaysia<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The amendment has been carried out under the Customs Tariff Act and the CVD framework to ensure fair trade practices and guard against subsidised imports impacting the domestic industry.<\/p>\n

2. Notification Amendment<\/h2>\n

The latest notification amends Notification No. 3\/2021-Customs (CVD), dated 09-03-2021<\/strong>, by inserting a new paragraph clarifying the duration of the levy.<\/p>\n

2.1 Key Provision<\/h3>\n
\n

Notwithstanding the provisions of paragraph 2 of the principal notification, the countervailing duty imposed on the subject goods shall remain in force up to and inclusive of 08-06-2026<\/strong>, unless revoked, superseded, or amended earlier.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

This ensures continuity of the levy beyond the original tenure<\/strong>, subject to any future changes by the Government.<\/p>\n

3. Scope of Coverage<\/h2>\n

The continued levy applies to imports of:<\/p>\n

    \n
  • Textured Tempered Glass<\/strong><\/li>\n
  • Classified under CTH 7007 19 00<\/strong><\/li>\n
  • Originating in or exported from Malaysia<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    The levy remains applicable to all importers and traders<\/strong>, irrespective of purpose, commercial use, or channel of procurement.<\/p>\n

    4. Compliance Expectations<\/h2>\n

    Importers must ensure that:<\/p>\n

    • Applicable countervailing duty continues to be paid<\/strong> on all consignments until 08-06-2026 (or until further notification)<\/li>\n
    • Customs documentation, declarations, and classification<\/strong> correctly reflect the subject goods and origin<\/li>\n
    • Internal trade teams, customs brokers, and supply chain departments update their compliance manuals, pricing models, and duty forecasts<\/strong> to incorporate the extended levy<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Failure to comply may lead to assessment disputes, penalty exposure, or delayed clearance<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
