1. Regulatory Background<\/h2>\n

The Director General of Foreign Trade<\/span><\/span> (DGFT)<\/strong>, exercising powers under paragraphs 1.03 and 2.04 of the Foreign Trade Policy (FTP), 2023<\/strong>, has issued a Public Notice amending Appendix 4B of the Handbook of Procedures (HBP), 2023<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The amendment expands the list of banks authorised by the Reserve Bank of India<\/span><\/span> (RBI)<\/strong> to import gold<\/strong> during FY 2025\u201326<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

2. Inclusion of SBER Bank<\/h2>\n

Pursuant to the amendment:<\/p>\n

    \n
  • SBER Bank<\/strong> has been included<\/strong> in the list of RBI-authorised banks permitted to import only gold<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
  • The authorisation is valid from 25 June 2025 to 31 March 2026<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    This inclusion enables SBER Bank to participate in regulated gold imports within the defined policy framework.<\/p>\n

    3. Scope and Conditions of Authorisation<\/h2>\n

    The authorisation granted to SBER Bank is subject to the following conditions:<\/p>\n

    • Purpose \u2013<\/strong>\u00a0Domestic consumption only<\/strong><\/li>\n

      No other precious metals or purposes are covered under this authorisation.<\/p>\n

      4. Updated List of Authorised Banks (Appendix 4B)<\/h2>\n

      With the amendment, Appendix 4B<\/strong> now lists the following banks authorised to import gold for FY 2025\u201326:<\/p>\n

      1. Indian Overseas Bank<\/li>\n
      2. Union Bank of India<\/li>\n
      3. SBER Bank<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        Only these banks are eligible to undertake gold imports under the specified policy conditions.<\/p>\n
