The amendment updates the tariff values applicable for customs assessment of certain edible oils, precious metals, and scrap.<\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"584\" data-end=\"624\">1. Revised Tariff Values for Edible Oils<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"626\" data-end=\"731\">The notification prescribes <strong data-start=\"654\" data-end=\"679\">revised tariff values<\/strong> for the following edible oils and related products:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li data-start=\"734\" data-end=\"752\">Crude palm oil<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"755\" data-end=\"771\">RBD palm oil<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"774\" data-end=\"793\">Other palm oils<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"796\" data-end=\"815\">Crude palmolein<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"818\" data-end=\"835\">RBD palmolein<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"838\" data-end=\"857\">Other palmolein<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"860\" data-end=\"883\">Crude soya bean oil<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"885\" data-end=\"1031\">These revised values will be applied for the purpose of <strong data-start=\"941\" data-end=\"962\">customs valuation<\/strong> of the respective goods falling under the specified tariff headings.<\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"1033\" data-end=\"1065\">2. Tariff Values for Brass Scrap<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"1067\" data-end=\"1226\">In addition to edible oils, the notification also <strong data-start=\"1117\" data-end=\"1161\">revises the tariff value for brass scrap<\/strong>, impacting import valuation and duty computation for such goods.<\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"1228\" data-end=\"1290\">3. Tariff Values for Gold and Silver under Concessional Regime<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"1292\" data-end=\"1529\">The notification further specifies <strong data-start=\"1327\" data-end=\"1383\">tariff values for gold and silver in specified forms<\/strong> where concessional rate entries under <strong data-start=\"1422\" data-end=\"1480\">Notification No. 45\/2025-Customs dated 24 October 2025<\/strong> are availed. The prescribed tariff values cover:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li data-start=\"1532\" data-end=\"1545\">Gold bars<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1548\" data-end=\"1562\">Gold coins<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1565\" data-end=\"1592\">Silver in various forms<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"1594\" data-end=\"1714\">These tariff values will apply exclusively in cases where the relevant concessional customs duty provisions are claimed.<\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"1716\" data-end=\"1746\">4. Clarification on Exclusions<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"1748\" data-end=\"1839\">The notification expressly clarifies that the prescribed tariff values <strong data-start=\"1819\" data-end=\"1835\">do not apply<\/strong> to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li data-start=\"1842\" data-end=\"1868\">Foreign currency coins<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1871\" data-end=\"1891\">Silver jewellery<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1894\" data-end=\"1921\">Articles made of silver<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"1923\" data-end=\"2058\">Such items will continue to be assessed as per the applicable customs valuation provisions outside the notified tariff value mechanism.<\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"2060\" data-end=\"2103\">5. No Change in Tariff Value for Areca Nuts<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"2105\" data-end=\"2267\">The existing <strong data-start=\"2118\" data-end=\"2149\">tariff value for areca nuts<\/strong> remains <strong data-start=\"2158\" data-end=\"2171\">unchanged<\/strong>, and imports of areca nuts will continue to be assessed at the tariff value currently in force.<\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"2269\" data-end=\"2304\">6. Effective Date and Applicability<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"2306\" data-end=\"2676\">The substituted tariff values shall apply for the <strong data-start=\"2356\" data-end=\"2388\">assessment of imported goods<\/strong> covered under the specified tariff headings <strong data-start=\"2433\" data-end=\"2469\">with effect from 31 January 2026<\/strong>. Importers dealing in edible oils, precious metals, brass scrap, and areca nuts must ensure that the <strong data-start=\"2571\" data-end=\"2651\">revised tariff values are applied for customs valuation and duty calculation<\/strong> from the effective date.<\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"2678\" data-end=\"2700\">7. Compliance Takeaway<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"2702\" data-end=\"2902\">Importers should review their <strong data-start=\"2732\" data-end=\"2796\">import contracts, pricing assumptions, and duty
