The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) has issued a notification amending the import policy under ITC (HS) 2022, Schedule I (Import Policy)<\/strong> for certain jewellery items falling under Chapter 71<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

1. ITC (HS) Codes Covered<\/h2>\n

The amendment applies to the following ITC (HS) codes:<\/p>\n

    \n
  • 71131144<\/strong> \u2013 Other jewellery studded with diamonds of heading 7104<\/li>\n
  • 71131145<\/strong> \u2013 Other jewellery studded with other precious and semi-precious stones<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    2. Change in Import Policy<\/h2>\n

    The import policy for the above entries has been revised from \u2018Free\u2019 to \u2018Restricted\u2019<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

    This means that import of these specified jewellery items will now require prior authorisation from DGFT<\/strong> instead of being freely importable.<\/p>\n

    3. Validity of Restriction<\/h2>\n

    The restriction will remain in force up to 30 June 2026<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

    4. Effective Date<\/h2>\n

    The revised import policy has come into effect immediately from the date of notification<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

    5. Objective of the Amendment<\/h2>\n
