Notification No. 73\/2025-26 FTP<\/a>, Dated 31-03-2026<\/p>\n

The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) has issued a notification amending Paragraph 4.43 of the Foreign Trade Policy (FTP) 2023<\/strong>, introducing a one-time relaxation<\/strong> for the gems and jewellery sector.<\/p>\n

1. Existing Provision Remains Unchanged<\/span><\/h2>\n

The current framework relating to:<\/p>\n

    \n
  • Export of cut and polished diamonds<\/li>\n
  • Re-import facility at zero duty<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    continues unchanged<\/strong>, ensuring continuity in trade operations.<\/p>\n

    2. Extension of Re-import Period<\/span><\/h2>\n

    An additional provision has been inserted to allow extension of the re-import period<\/strong> in specified cases.<\/p>\n

      \n
    • Where the re-import period is expiring between 01-03-2026 and 31-05-2026<\/strong><\/li>\n
    • The period shall automatically stand extended by 30 days<\/strong> from the original date of expiry<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      3. Revised Time Limit for Re-import<\/span><\/h2>\n

      As a result of this relaxation:<\/p>\n

        \n
      • Eligible exporters can now avail a total re-import period of up to 4 months<\/strong><\/li>\n
      • Instead of the earlier 3-month period<\/strong> for zero-duty re-import<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        4. Objective of the Relaxation<\/span><\/h2>\n

        This measure aims to:<\/p>\n

          \n
        • Provide operational flexibility<\/strong> to exporters<\/li>\n
        • Address logistical and market disruptions<\/strong><\/li>\n
        • Support the gems and jewellery sector<\/strong> during a constrained period<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

          5. Conclusion<\/span><\/h2>\n
