Notification No. 01\/2026-27<\/a>, Dated 01-04-2026<\/p>\n

The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) has issued a notification permitting the export of specified essential commodities to the Republic of Maldives<\/strong> for the financial year 2026\u201327<\/strong>, under a bilateral trade arrangement.<\/p>\n

1. Permitted Commodities and Quantity Limits<\/span><\/h2>\n

The notification allows export of the following commodities, subject to prescribed quantitative ceilings<\/strong>:<\/p>\n

    \n
  • Eggs<\/li>\n
  • Potatoes<\/li>\n
  • Onions<\/li>\n
  • Rice<\/li>\n
  • Wheat flour<\/li>\n
  • Sugar<\/li>\n
  • Dal<\/li>\n
  • Stone aggregate<\/li>\n
  • River sand<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    These exports are exempt from any existing or future export restrictions or prohibitions<\/strong> during the specified period.<\/p>\n

    2. Designated Ports for Restricted\/Prohibited Items<\/span><\/h2>\n

    Where commodities fall under restricted or prohibited categories<\/strong>, exports are permitted only through designated Customs Stations<\/strong>:<\/p>\n

    • Mundra Sea Port<\/li>\n
    • Tuticorin Sea Port<\/li>\n
    • Nhava Sheva Sea Port<\/li>\n
    • ICD Tughlakabad<\/li>\n
    • Kandla Sea Port<\/li>\n
    • Visakhapatnam Sea Port<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      3. Compliance Conditions for Specific Commodities<\/span><\/h2>\n

      3.1 Export of Eggs<\/span><\/h3>\n

      • Each consignment must be accompanied by a valid Export Health Certificate<\/strong><\/li>\n
      • Certificate to be issued by the Export Inspection Council (EIC)<\/strong><\/li>\n
      • Must conform to Codex guidelines<\/strong> as required by the Maldives Food and Drug Authority<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        3.2 Export of River Sand and Stone Aggregate<\/span><\/h3>\n

        Suppliers\/exporters must ensure:<\/p>\n

        • Mining is not carried out in Coastal Regulation Zone (CRZ) areas<\/strong><\/li>\n
