{"id":9374,"date":"2026-06-03T07:47:55","date_gmt":"2026-06-03T02:17:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.centaxonline.com\/blog\/?p=9374"},"modified":"2026-06-03T07:47:55","modified_gmt":"2026-06-03T02:17:55","slug":"government-revises-tariff-values-for-edible-oils-gold-silver-areca-nuts","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.centaxonline.com\/blog\/government-revises-tariff-values-for-edible-oils-gold-silver-areca-nuts","title":{"rendered":"Government Revises Tariff Values for Edible Oils | Gold | Silver | Areca Nuts"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.centaxonline.com\/latest-news-updates\/customs\/104010000000115989\/government-revises-tariff-values-for-import-of-edible-oils-gold-silver-areca-nuts-etc-notification\">Notification No. 49\/2026-Customs (N.T.)<\/a>, Dated 29-05-2026<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"95\" data-end=\"344\">The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) has issued a notification amending <strong data-start=\"185\" data-end=\"245\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.centaxonline.com\/search?searchData=Notification%20No.%2036%2F2001-Customs%20(N.T.)&amp;itemType=AP\">Notification No. 36\/2001-Customs (N.T.)<\/a> dated 03-08-2001<\/strong>, revising the tariff values applicable to specified imported goods for customs valuation purposes.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"346\" data-end=\"414\">The revised tariff values shall come into force from <strong data-start=\"399\" data-end=\"413\">30-05-2026<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h2 data-section-id=\"1bjjruy\" data-start=\"416\" data-end=\"466\">1. Tariff Values Revised for Specified Edible Oils<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"468\" data-end=\"591\">The notification revises tariff values applicable to specified edible oils by substituting the existing tariff value table.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"593\" data-end=\"649\">The revised tariff values for edible oils range between:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul data-start=\"651\" data-end=\"721\">\n<li data-section-id=\"udlac6\" data-start=\"651\" data-end=\"688\"><strong data-start=\"653\" data-end=\"683\">US$ 1,218 per metric tonne<\/strong>, and<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"19vnx7c\" data-start=\"689\" data-end=\"721\"><strong data-start=\"691\" data-end=\"721\">US$ 1,244 per metric tonne<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"723\" data-end=\"834\">The revised values will be used for determining customs duty liability on imports of the specified edible oils.<\/p>\n<h2 data-section-id=\"1vmxudr\" data-start=\"836\" data-end=\"873\">2. Tariff Value Fixed for Brass Scrap<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"875\" data-end=\"939\">The Government has fixed the tariff value of <strong data-start=\"920\" data-end=\"935\">Brass Scrap<\/strong> at:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul data-start=\"941\" data-end=\"973\">\n<li data-section-id=\"a2nfcq\" data-start=\"941\" data-end=\"973\"><strong data-start=\"943\" data-end=\"973\">US$ 7,655 per metric tonne<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"975\" data-end=\"1077\">This value shall be adopted for customs valuation of imported brass scrap covered by the notification.<\/p>\n<h2 data-section-id=\"16jpic8\" data-start=\"1079\" data-end=\"1121\">3. Revised Tariff Value for Silver Imports<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"1123\" data-end=\"1212\">The notification also revises the tariff value applicable to specified imports of silver.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1214\" data-end=\"1249\">The tariff value has been fixed at:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul data-start=\"1251\" data-end=\"1279\">\n<li data-section-id=\"2z4kk6\" data-start=\"1251\" data-end=\"1279\"><strong data-start=\"1253\" data-end=\"1279\">US$ 2,368 per kilogram<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"1281\" data-end=\"1361\">The revised value will be used for customs assessment of covered silver imports.<\/p>\n<h2 data-section-id=\"qq9qod\" data-start=\"1363\" data-end=\"1405\">4. Tariff Values for Gold Remain Unchanged<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"1407\" data-end=\"1523\">The notification clarifies that tariff values applicable to certain categories of <strong data-start=\"1489\" data-end=\"1505\">gold imports<\/strong> remain unchanged.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1525\" data-end=\"1643\">Accordingly, customs valuation of such gold imports shall continue to be based on the existing notified tariff values.<\/p>\n<h2 data-section-id=\"1i4j0t3\" data-start=\"1645\" data-end=\"1684\">5. Tariff Value for Areca Nuts Retained<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"1686\" data-end=\"1774\">The Government has also retained the existing tariff value applicable to <strong data-start=\"1759\" data-end=\"1773\">Areca Nuts<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1776\" data-end=\"1855\">No revision has been made with respect to the customs valuation of areca nut imports.<\/p>\n<h2 data-section-id=\"1898a9y\" data-start=\"1857\" data-end=\"1886\">6. Effective Date of Revision<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"1888\" data-end=\"2049\">The revised tariff values shall come into force\u00a0<span style=\"box-sizing: border-box; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;\">on\u00a0<strong>30-05-2026<\/strong> and shall apply to the<\/span>\u00a0customs valuation of the specified imported goods from that date onwards.<\/p>\n<h2 data-section-id=\"10f5ulz\" data-start=\"2051\" data-end=\"2083\">7.
