1. Introduction

The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) has issued Notification No. 27/2025-26, amending the Minimum Export Price (MEP) applicable to Natural Honey under ITC(HS) Code 04090000. This notification introduces a reduction in the MEP, aimed at boosting export competitiveness in global markets.

2. Key Changes in Minimum Export Price (MEP)

  • Earlier MEP: USD 2000 FOB per Metric Ton

  • Revised MEP: USD 1400 FOB per Metric Ton

  • Effective Date: Immediate effect from 22nd August 2025

  • Validity: Applicable until 31st December 2025

3. Applicability of the Notification

The revised MEP will apply to:

  • All exports of Natural Honey under tariff code 04090000

  • Shipments executed between the date of notification and 31-12-2025

  • Export clearances processed during the validity period

4. Compliance Requirements for Exporters

Exporters of Natural Honey must ensure:

  • Every shipment adheres to the revised MEP of USD 1400 FOB/MT

  • Export documentation clearly reflects the updated MEP

  • Compliance with DGFT guidelines to avoid rejection or delays in export clearances

The downward revision in MEP is expected to:
