DGFT courier exports value limit

Notification No. 67/2025-26, Dated 27-03-2026

The Directorate General of Foreign Trade has amended Para 9.05 of the Foreign Trade Policy, 2023, easing restrictions on exports through courier services and Foreign Post Offices.

1. Key Amendment

  • The existing per-consignment value limit of ₹10,00,000 has been removed
  • There will now be no value cap per consignment for courier exports

2. Effective Date

  • The revised provision will come into effect from 01 April 2026

3. What This Means

  • Exporters can now ship higher-value consignments via courier
  • Eliminates the need to split shipments to comply with earlier limits
  • Simplifies export logistics, especially for:
    1. E-commerce exporters
    2. MSMEs and small businesses

4. Impact on Trade

  • Enhances ease of doing business
  • Supports growth in cross-border e-commerce exports
  • Improves efficiency and flexibility in export operations

5. Takeaway

This move reflects a shift toward liberalised export norms, enabling Indian exporters to scale operations without artificial value constraints in courier-based shipments.
