Anti-Dumping Duty on Aluminium Foil

Notification No. 10/2026-Customs (ADD), Dated 10-06-2026

The Central Government has issued a notification amending Notification No. 51/2021-Customs (ADD) dated 16-09-2021, extending the validity of the existing Anti-Dumping Duty (ADD) on imports of Aluminium Foil originating in or exported from China PR, Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia.

1. Validity of Existing ADD Extended

Under the amendment, the anti-dumping duty on the subject goods shall continue to remain in force:

Up to and inclusive of 15 December 2026

The extension ensures the continued applicability of the existing anti-dumping measures on imports from the specified countries.

2. Countries Covered

The extended ADD applies to Aluminium Foil:

    • Originating in or exported from China PR
    • Originating in or exported from Malaysia
    • Originating in or exported from Thailand
    • Originating in or exported from Indonesia

Imports from these countries will continue to attract the applicable anti-dumping duty under the existing framework.

3. No Change in Existing Duty Structure

The notification does not alter the existing rate or scope of the anti-dumping duty. It merely extends the period for which the duty remains effective.

Accordingly, importers of the subject goods must continue to comply with the anti-dumping duty requirements prescribed under Notification No. 51/2021-Customs (ADD).

4. Duty to Continue Unless Withdrawn Earlier

The extended anti-dumping duty shall remain applicable until 15-12-2026, unless it is:

    • Revoked;
    • Superseded; or
    • Amended earlier

by the Government through a subsequent notification.

5. Impact on Importers

Importers of Aluminium Foil from the specified countries will remain liable to pay the applicable anti-dumping duty during the extended period.

The continuation of the duty is intended to address the adverse effects of dumped imports and maintain fair competition in the domestic market.

6. Objective of the Extension

The extension of the anti-dumping duty seeks to protect the domestic aluminium foil industry from injury caused by unfairly priced imports.

By continuing the existing trade remedy measure, the Government aims to ensure a level playing field for domestic manufacturers and prevent market distortions arising from dumped imports from the specified countries.
