Anti-Dumping Duty on Import

Notification No. 07/2025-Customs (ADD), Dated 25-03-2025

The Government has issued a notification imposing anti-dumping duty on imports of ‘Acrylic Solid Surfaces’ classified under tariff items 3506 99 99, 3920 51 11, 3920 51 19, 3920 51 99, 3920 63 90, 3921 90 39, and 3926 90 69 of the Customs Tariff Act, 1975, originating in or exported from China PR.

Pursuant to the final findings of the Designated Authority, as recorded in Notification No. 06/06/2023-DGTR dated 26-12-2024, it has been conclusively established that:

  • The product under consideration has been exported to India from the subject country at dumped prices;
  • The domestic industry has suffered material injury;
  • The material injury has been caused by the dumped imports of the subject goods from the subject country

In view of these findings, the Central Government has decided to impose an anti-dumping duty on the subject imports to safeguard the interests of domestic manufacturers and prevent further injury.

The duty structure varies based on the country of export and the producer—imports from producers specified in notification shall be subject to NIL duty, whereas imports from any other producer in China PR shall attract an anti-dumping duty of USD 0.18 per kg.

Furthermore, certain products, including pure acrylic sheets, acrylic laminates, PET/PVC films for furniture decoration and vehicle wrapping, polyester solid surface sheets, and modified acrylic solid surfaces, have been explicitly excluded from the scope of the product under consideration under this notification.

The anti-dumping duty shall remain in force for a period of five years from the date of publication of this notification in the Official Gazette, unless revoked, superseded, or amended earlier.
