Notification No. 02/2025-26, Dated 02-04-2025
The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) has amended the import policy of areca nuts “Free” to “Prohibited” when the CIF value is less than Rs.351 per kilogram. The notification also clarifies that “other roasted nuts and seeds” will continue to be classified as “Free” under HS Code 20081920, while roasted areca nuts are specifically covered under HS Code 08028090 as “Prohibited”.
