Notification No. 06/2026-Customs, Dated 12-03-2026
The Central Government has amended Notification No. 45/2025-Customs dated 24 October 2025, which grants customs duty exemption for the import of precious metals by specified banks.
1. Inclusion of SBER Bank in Eligible List
Pursuant to the amendment, SBER Bank has been added as Item No. 3 in List 14 of Table I of the notification.
This inclusion makes the bank eligible to import precious metals under the customs exemption framework applicable to specified banks.
2. Conditions for Import
The amended notification specifies that:
- The import of precious metals by SBER Bank is permitted only for domestic consumption.
- The authorisation is valid for the period from 25 June 2025 to 31 March 2026.
3. Objective of the Amendment
The amendment updates the list of eligible banks authorised to import precious metals under the customs exemption notification, thereby facilitating regulated imports of precious metals for domestic use within the specified validity period.
