Public Notice No. 14/2025-26, Dated 08-07-2025
The Director General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) has issued a Public Notice introducing three new Standard Input Output Norms (SIONs) under the Chemical & Allied Products group. These norms define the quantity of input materials permitted for manufacturing a specified quantity of export product under the Advance Authorisation scheme.
1. Newly Introduced SIONs
The details of the newly notified SIONs are as follows:
-
SION A-3687 – Azithromycin Dihydrate

-
- Permitted Input – 0.9434 kg of Azithromycin Amine Dihydrate
 - Per Output Unit – For every 1 kg of Azithromycin Dihydrate exported

-
SION A-3688 – Aldehyde C10 (Capric Aldehyde)

-
- Permitted Input – 1.40 kg of Fatty Alcohol C10 (98% purity)

2. Implication for Exporters Under Advance Authorisation Scheme
Exporters intending to avail duty-free import benefits under the Advance Authorisation scheme must now strictly comply with these newly notified input-output norms. These SIONs ensure standardisation and transparency in input consumption ratios and serve as a reference for both exporters and customs authorities.
3. Compliance and Operational Readiness
- Exporters dealing in the above-mentioned products should immediately align their Bill of Materials (BoM) and production documentation with the updated SIONs.
 - Applications for advance authorisations must reflect these new norms to avoid discrepancies during clearance or post-export verification.
